Shibuya 109 2017 Fukubukuro Adventure at Liz Lisa and Swankiss

Hello darlings! I just wanted to share my very first experience getting fukubukuro in Japan at Shibuya109.

It was so intense!

I arrived at Shibuya 109 at 6:30 am on January 2nd, thinking I was quite early, only to find 260 other people already queued up at the basement!
I took out my My Melody and Little Twin Stars mats, sat down in line, took out my Kindle and read Harry Potter while waiting, just like I always do.

At 8 am staff members led us all into the building in a very orderly fashion according to our numbered cards and each person went to different stores upon entering the building. Every store in 109 had their staff standing at the entrances screaming at the top of their lungs, at the same time, in extremely high-pitch voices, yelling about the sales they had and inviting customers in. I had a headache after 5 min of being in 109.

I of course went directly to Liz Lisa! I knew I was going to get the My Melody fuku from Liz Lisa but in the heat of the moment I also grabbed the smaller Liz Lisa fuku.

Then I stupidly walked by Swankiss knowing that I always give into temptation and the adorable shop staff Hiakpu talked me into buying their fuku as well haha.

In total I got three fukubukuro.

Swankiss Fukubukuro 2017 Angel Bag

The bag itself is so adorable!

I love the pink knit sweater with the pink ribbons.....  . .  ......,,,lokjdslfjsdf      .. . dfkdj

There's a black dress with a heart on front and its stretchy enough to fit the girls inside. Also included is a pink satin tank top with long sleeved lace; definitely something you'd see in LARME magazine.

Last is a long pink trench coat with heart pockets that have a white ribbon laced through them, so cute

Note: this fuku also included a pair of long floral pants that I really wasn't too fond of, so after purchasing this at Shibuya 109 I stood outside with tons of other girls hoping to sell items they didn't wanted, and I managed to sell it. I honestly didn't plan on getting this but I'm very glad I did!

Liz Lisa Fukubukuro 2017 Tote Bag

This was not my favorite fukubukuro but I do think I'll use the bag quite often.

Camel colored deep v-neck coat. The fit of it on me isn't the most flattering but alas.

Cute floral dress, however, the fit of the dress would compliment a girl with a smaller bust because my poor babies were squished in this dress....

A plain white tank top and a white knit sweater with camel colored ribbons on front. The tank top again would suit a small chested girl because the tiny cup spaces for the boobs are....too tiny for me. The sweater is a little too plain in my opinion but maybe I can wear it as a (very short lol) dress. Kind of wish it exposed the shoulders. Honestly I can't complain too much about fukubukuro because it's a gamble with what you get inside, but I'm just sharing my thoughts on the items.

Liz Lisa My Melody 2017 Fukubukuro

This is the one I wanted the most! The My Melody suitcase is plastic and super duper cute!

The same adorable print of the suitcase is also on the jumper skirt. The long sleeved top in the fuku has a Sailor collar and is light yellow in color with a removable white ribbon. I don't really do top and bottom combo outfits but it is very cute.

The dress has the same darling print. Its stretchy, has a zipper on the left side, and is the same fit is the winter 2016 My Melody 10th collab dresses previously released but without sashes in the back to tie a ribbon with. After seeing Mikipon wear this dress in the fuku advertisements I just KNEW I had to have it too!

The cardigan and tank top included are plain white.
Same opinion on the tank top as above because it's the same tank top.
The cardigan is great because I had been wanting a plain white Liz Lisa cardigan for the dresses that I own with really loud prints, to balance out coords.
There is also a My Melody charm in the shape of her face. I have so many mymelo charms now it's turning into quite the collection!

Lastly there was a coat in a light camel color with a big bow in the back. I absolutely love it!!! The shape is very dolly and it completes a lot of the coords I already wear on a daily basis. I was very happy about this item.

So so so happy with the mymelo fuku <333333

Standing outside 109 with tons of other Japanese girls, opening our fuku, trying to sell items we didn't want; it was so awkward! It can be weird approaching people randomly and asking if they want to buy your item.

But I got so lucky!

A girl boldly approached me as I held the Swankiss floral pants I didn't want and practically begged me for them. She really wanted them! She already knew how much the fuku cost so we agreed on a feasible price and she handed over the cash right away. It was almost too easy and I feel spoiled haha.

Before leaving 109 I was able to talk to and take a picture with Himena Ousaki, who was working at MA*RS that day. She's such a gyaru icon <3 This was my second time meeting her and she was very sweet and nice.

All in all, my first fukubukuro experience was really fun and I'm glad I can scratch that off my bucket list.

Liz Lisa x My Melody 2016 Collaborations Vol 1 and 2, The Epic Adventure

Long time no blog, darlings!

October and November have been really insane for me. So busy and so many changes... (including a new short hairdo in a pinkish blonde color <3 ) but one of the best things that's happened was the announcement of not one, but TWO releases for Liz Lisa x My Melody collaborations!

When I saw the announcement, possibly late September, I forgot, I FREAKED OUT! Two releases?? A month apart from each other?! Why do you do this to meeeeeee Liz Lisa?????

At this point I am beyond obsessed with My Melody as a character, and any collab with Liz Lisa I just gotta have!

Then sometime later they released pictures of the dresses.

Volume 1 of the 10th collab release, the Sweet Cake print, was perfect in every way. I knew after looking at Risato and Rima in the dresses that I had to have both pink and white, no exceptions!

Volume 2 of the release, the Cache Coeur dress, had more of an elegance to it with the ruffles and lace in the front, giving it a Victorian feel. At first glance I wasn't sure I wanted both, but I knew it was to be released in November so I had more time to think about it.

Then eventually the prices of the items were released, and they weren't much different from the spring collab release earlier this year. Still expensive if you're me and want the dresses, the bag, the charm, the pouchette.....

After getting all the spring my melo release items (except for the iPhone case; they never make a 6S Plus one....) I stopped shopping at Liz Lisa because I KNEW there was going to be a winter my melo release. I just had a feeling, I can't explain it. So I decided to save up money for it just in case my hunch was correct. I don't think I bought anything in the spring or summer Liz Lisa collection this year! I admired all my friends on Instagram as they got all the hot prints and items, but I still didn't buy anything. But it was all worth it! I knew my diligent saving would pay off and it did.

Toooooooootally worth the wait <3

For the October release of the Sweet Cake Print I arrived at 6:50 am to Shibuya 109 shopping center. I thought I was super early and felt good until I arrived there and realized there were at least 40 people already on line! Some of them must have come from far and stayed the night previous because they had suitcases and some were clearly still wearing (My Melody) pajamas.

It's custom here for people to bring mats with them to sit on while they wait. The more hardcore My Melody fans brought their mats, blankets, sweaters, everything. All the girls were wearing some form of Liz Lisa, Sanrio's My Melody clothing, or other 109 brands and gyaru-associated brands (Emiria Wiz, MA*RS, Ank Rouge, etc.). I saw a real life hime gyaru and was happy to see that it's not a completely dead fashion XD Some boyfriends and even fathers were there holding spots for or sitting with their loved ones supporting them. That's true love right there haha.

Thirty minutes before they opened 109, Liz Lisa staff girls came out to the line and started handing out tickets to people for the items they wanted, in the order that they were lined up in. This is something they didn't do for the spring release so I was surprised. If you didn't have your ticket for the item you wanted by the time you got to the register then they wouldn't give it to you. I'm guessing this was to ensure that if people tried to skip the line (highly unlikely to be honest) they couldn't get items before others who waited in line properly.

Here are my tickets:

For the white dress I was number 12. Considering there were a little over 40 people in front of me, that means it wasn't the most popular color dress.

For the pink dress I was number 35. Way more popular than white as you can see.

For the boston bag, I was number 21.

The My Melody charm, number 26.

And the My Melody pouchette (character purse) seemed the most popular! I was number 40.

Even though I arrived super early, I still managed to miss out on the limited edition red version of the 10th collab dress. It sold out 5 people ahead of me in line! (Honestly I didn't really want red as much as the other colors but I wanted to complete the trio lol)

So much waiting in line, even after I received all my items. They only had ONE register open. There was the store manager ringing customers up and the male staff who I believe does mostly stock was carefully bagging the items for each customer. It took FOREVER.

All in all, I was very pleased with my gets!

I cant believe I almost didn't get the bag. The pictures I saw on Twitter honestly didn't do it justice, but when I saw in person I was like OH MY GOD YES I NEEDDDDDDDDD! I kid you not, since purchasing it I use that bag like 6 days a week. Its adorable <333

Also, although it wasn't advertised at all on social media and I almost missed and forgot it, I managed to get the MOOK as well. Inside there were adorable coords with the Sweet Cake dresses and more, plus makeup tips, hair styles, an introduction of the new visual models LL SIENNES, and lots of My Melody. It even came with a cute tote bag with pink ribboned straps.

To make up for not getting the red dress, I decided to get some accessories that the staff recommended to wear with the dresses. Two pearl necklaces with a fur poof at the bottom, one including a dusty pink bow and the other a white one. And two sets of ribbons, pink and white. They really complete the coord!

Side note, I thought this was funny, I found myself on the official Liz Lisa Twitter account for Shibuya 109 store!

Look closer...

It me XDDDD

AND FINALLY!

Tomorrow (Saturday 11/19) is the big day (again)!!!!!

Liz Lisa x My Melody 10th Collaboration release vol. 2 of the Cache Coeur dress!

The limited edition all pink version is my absolute fav!

It will be released not only on the online store (www.tokyokawaiilife.jp) and at the Shibuya 109 store, but also at the Harajuku Takeshita Dori and Shinjuku ALTA stores too!!

The Takeshita Dori store has had all three dresses on display this week, so I went in to have a look, feel the material, and see if the back had a decent amount of shirring. After seeing them in person I felt the pink dress looked nicer than the white one, but by far the all pink was the superior dress!

The lovely staff let me try on the pink one (not the all pink because, well, limited edition so it's special). There was a lot of shirring in the back, which I was thankful for as I have quite a large bust. It fit just like the Sweet Cake dress. I liked it very much!

I know for sure I want all three dresses now, but the madness to get the dresses will be intense like last month.

This time I'm going to the Harajuku Takeshita Dori store because a staff I'm friends with will be there, and I want to switch it up from always going to Shibuya 109. The waiting area isn't covered like at 109, and its on the concrete street of Takeshita Dori so it'll be uncomfortable....

So what time do I have to arrive to guarantee I'll get the limited edition pink cache coeur dress? 6 am? 5 am? Should I just not sleep????? Pull an all nighter??? I WANT THE ALL PINK ONE SO BADLYYYYYY

I guess we'll see what happens =)

If you want to follow my adventures I snap about everything, including these releases and my daily coords, on Snapchat and Instagram Stories. Also my Insta feed includes all the styles I wear on a daily basis (himekaji, gyaru, LARME, etc.)
